Reports of Bomb Threats at Schools and Landmarks in the Washington D.C. Metro Area

D.C. police recently investigated a bomb threat in Southeast, adding to a series of similar threats that have been targeting schools, landmarks, and even a house of worship across the Washington D.C. metro area region.

On Saturday, a bomb threat was reported at the Capitol View Library shortly before 11 a.m. However, no additional information is currently available regarding the specifics of the threat.

Another bomb threat occurred at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday morning. Funeral services and visitation were temporarily halted while the authorities conducted a sweep, but no explosive devices were found, and the all-clear was given.

Late last month, the National Zoo was evacuated due to a bomb threat. Thankfully, the zoo was reopened the following day as D.C. police found no evidence of explosives.

In addition to the zoo, John F. Kennedy High School in Wheaton-Glenmont also received a bomb threat on August 29. Similarly, this threat was determined to be a false alarm.

The Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda and Bullis School in Potomac also faced bomb threats on August 18 and August 22, respectively, according to reports from WDVM-TV.

Furthermore, the Masjid Muhammad mosque in Northwest received a bomb threat on the same day as the Westfield Montgomery Mall incident. Fortunately, no explosives were found at the mosque during a search conducted by the police.

These series of bomb threats across schools, landmarks, and religious establishments have caused significant disruptions and concerns. Law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigations to identify the perpetrators and prevent further incidents.
