‘Elemental: Ultimate Collector’s Steelbook Limited Edition’ is the 4K Ultra HD release of Disney and Pixar’s latest animated film. The story follows the fire elements Bernie and Cinder Lumen as they leave their homeland and settle in Element City to build a new life for their soon-to-arrive child Ember. They face difficulties adapting to their new surroundings, but find solace in a community of other fire residents and open a store called the Fireplace.
Ember, with her fiery temper, accidentally causes a major plumbing leak in the store’s basement, leading to a visit from the city inspector. Ember and city inspector Wade Ripple make a deal with Wade’s boss that if they can stop the leak, the store will be spared from closure. As they work together, a friendship with sparks of romance develops, but they must also navigate the complexities of meeting each other’s families.
The film explores themes of immigration, family, friendship, and tolerance, while showcasing stunning and magical animation. The UHD presentation brings to life a world saturated with color and lifelike textures. The visuals of the fire and water characters are particularly impressive, with Ember’s ability to transform into flames and change color, and the translucent and gelatinous nature of the water humanoids.
The film may not have the emotional strength of other Pixar classics, but it will entertain both children and adults with its heartwarming story and visually stunning animation.
