Arsenal Overcomes 2-Goal Deficit to Secure Draw at Chelsea, Remains Unbeaten in Premier League

Arsenal rallied from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, ensuring their unbeaten record in the Premier League remains intact. Chelsea had appeared to be heading for a significant victory under manager Mauricio Pochettino, with Cole Palmer converting a penalty in the first half and Mykhailo Mudryk scoring with a lob shortly after the restart. However, a mistake from Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez allowed Declan Rice to intercept a pass and score from 25 yards out, giving Arsenal a way back into the game. Substitute Leandro Trossard then equalized in the 84th minute to secure a draw for the visitors.

Both teams came into the match in good form, with Chelsea winning their last two league games and Arsenal defeating defending champions Manchester City in their previous fixture. However, Chelsea dominated the majority of the game, showcasing the success of Pochettino’s decision to field a starting lineup without a recognized striker. They were awarded a penalty in the 15th minute after William Saliba’s handball, which Palmer calmly converted to open the scoring. Arsenal had their chances to equalize, with Rice missing a good opportunity in the 20th minute. Mudryk then doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 48th minute with a lob from a tight angle.

Sanchez’s mistake in the second half gave Arsenal a lifeline, and they took full advantage of it. Trossard, who made his return from injury, tapped in a cross from Bukayo Saka to equalize in the 84th minute. Eddie Nketiah had a chance to score the winner for Arsenal, but his shot went wide. Chelsea substitute Nicolas Jackson had the final chance of the game, but his shot was saved by David Raya.

The draw leaves Arsenal level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, although Tottenham can reclaim the lead with a win over Fulham on Monday. Chelsea currently sits in ninth place, nine points behind the leaders.
