In an exhilarating race at the United States Grand Prix, Max Verstappen of Red Bull clinched his 50th career win and 15th win of the season. Starting from sixth on the grid, Verstappen fended off Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes in the final laps at the Circuit of the Americas.
Despite Hamilton’s relentless pursuit, Verstappen’s Red Bull car and strategic pit stop decisions helped him maintain his lead. He crossed the finish line 2.2 seconds ahead of Hamilton, showcasing his exceptional driving skills and determination.
This victory marks Verstappen’s 15th win of the season, equaling the record he set last year. In a season dominated by Red Bull, Verstappen has emerged as the strongest driver, winning 13 out of the last 14 races. If not for a win shared with teammate Sergio Perez earlier in the season, Verstappen would have propelled Red Bull to the top of the team standings as well.
Furthermore, Verstappen’s triumph in Austin secured his third consecutive win at the venue. Despite starting from sixth due to a qualifying error, Verstappen showcased his skill and agility on the track. His win also broke the streak of all previous Circuit of the Americas winners starting from the front row. Verstappen has demonstrated his ability to win races from lower positions on multiple occasions this season.
Hamilton, who is vying for second place in the drivers’ standings, secured another podium finish in his pursuit of Sergio Perez. Bringing their last major upgrade of the season to Austin, Mercedes showcased their competitiveness. Lando Norris secured third place, earning McLaren its fourth consecutive podium finish.
