Fighter jets were dispatched to intercept a civilian aircraft that violated restricted airspace while President Biden was in Wilmington, Delaware.
According to Anthony Guglielmi, spokesperson for the Secret Service, the aircraft entered the airspace north of Wilmington around 2 p.m. on Saturday. As a precautionary measure, assets were mobilized to intercept the aircraft, which eventually landed safely at a nearby airport.
Fortunately, President Biden’s visit to his home in Wilmington was unaffected by the incident. The Secret Service and Federal Aviation Administration are currently conducting an investigation.
