Lions Ride Jahmyr Gibbs’ Legs and Jared Goff’s Arm to 26-14 Victory Over Struggling Raiders

The Detroit Lions defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 26-14 on Monday night, thanks to the impressive performance of rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs and quarterback Jared Goff. Gibbs ran for a season-high 152 yards and a touchdown, while Goff threw for 272 yards and a score.

Despite some early struggles and settling for field goals, the Lions took the lead late in the first half when Goff connected with rookie Sam LaPorta for an 18-yard touchdown pass. However, Goff threw an interception in the third quarter that was returned for a touchdown by Marcus Peters, allowing the Raiders to narrow the gap.

The Lions secured their victory with a third-quarter touchdown run by Gibbs and a 52-yard field goal by Riley Patterson, giving them a comfortable 12-point lead. The Raiders struggled offensively, with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo throwing a league-leading ninth interception and the team allowing six sacks.

On the Raiders’ side, Josh Jacobs had a lackluster game, finishing with 61 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown. Garoppolo completed 10 of 21 passes for 126 yards but struggled to find his receivers and had a number of misfires.

Goff had a solid performance, completing 26 of 37 passes and connecting six times with Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Lions also had a strong running game, with Gibbs rushing for 152 yards and five receptions for 37 yards.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by the Lions, who maintained their lead in the NFC North division. The Raiders will look to bounce back as they host the New York Giants in their next game, while the Lions will have a bye week before facing the Los Angeles Chargers on November 12.

In other news, Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby made headlines off the field by donating $1 million to Eastern Michigan’s athletic department. The school will be naming its field at Rynearson Stadium after Crosby in recognition of his contribution.

In terms of injuries, the Raiders had linebacker Luke Masterson and fullback Jakob Johnson leave the game with concussions, while linebacker Divine Deablo was inactive due to an ankle injury. The Lions had running back David Montgomery, center Frank Ragnow, and guard Jonah Jackson inactive due to various injuries.

That wraps up the recap of the Lions’ victory over the struggling Raiders. Stay tuned for more updates on Globeblognews!
