Amazon Prime Video has acquired the streaming rights to the movie “Sound of Freedom,” and it will be available on the platform starting the day after Christmas.

“Sound of Freedom” tells the true story of Tim Ballard, a former Department of Homeland Security agent, and his mission to combat global child sex trafficking through his nonprofit organization, Operation Underground Railroad.

The movie is currently available for purchase or rent on Amazon, but on December 26th, it will be available for free streaming for Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the U.S., as reported by Variety.

In the film, Jim Caviezel portrays Tim Ballard, known for his role as Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ.”

“I hope that people have the courage to go see it… Putting our head down in the sand is not going to solve this whole thing. Our love for God’s children has to be greater than our fear of evil,” said Caviezel in an interview with the Washington Times earlier this year.

“Sound of Freedom” has been well-received by audiences, grossing approximately $242 million worldwide according to Variety.

After the original distributor, Disney, dropped the movie, around $5 million was crowdfunded to support its distribution. In light of the film’s success, Angel Studios, the team behind the movie, reimbursed those who donated $1.20 for every dollar they contributed.

The movie also garnered attention in conservative politics, with former President Donald Trump privately screening it in July, according to the Guardian.
