Mohsen Abu Zina, the target of the attack, was identified as the head of weapons and industries for Hamas by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The IDF described Abu Zina as a key figure in the development of strategic weapons and rockets used by Hamas militants.
According to IDF reports, there have been more than 7,000 rocket launches from Hamas into Israel since Oct. 7, resulting in numerous casualties.
Following the attacks, the IDF conducted retaliatory airstrikes and a ground invasion of Gaza, resulting in a significant number of deaths, as reported by the Palestinian enclave’s Hamas-run health ministry.
