House Democrat Challenging President Claims ‘Bidenomics is Failing’

Rep. Dean Phillips, a Minnesota Democrat competing against President Biden, claims that the current administration’s economic strategies are not benefiting the American people.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Mr. Phillips stated, “Bidenomics is not working.” He emphasized his respect for the president while expressing concern about the effectiveness of his economic policies. “I respect the president. I want to make it very clear. He’s a good man. He saved our country,” Mr. Phillips added.

Mr. Phillips is positioning himself as a candidate who can defeat former President Donald Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican party. He believes that voting for him is the only way to uphold Mr. Biden’s legacy.

According to a recent New York Times/Siena College poll, President Biden’s reelection prospects appear challenging, with projections suggesting that he would lose five out of six swing states to Mr. Trump if the election were held today.

Discussing potential outcomes, Mr. Phillips expressed doubt about President Biden’s chances of winning a rematch against Mr. Trump. “I think in 2020 he was probably the only Democrat who could have beaten Donald Trump,” Mr. Phillips said. “I think in 2024 he may be among the only ones that will lose to him.”
