Biden’s Day Out in Nantucket: Family Lunch, Shopping, and Christmas Tree Lighting

Globeblognews – President Joe Biden had a busy yet enjoyable day on Friday as he partook in various activities in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Despite a series of national security briefings earlier in the day, he also made time for the traditional Biden day-after-Thanksgiving festivities.
Following the briefings where he was updated on the release of hostages in Gaza, Biden emphasized that it was just the beginning, but it was progressing well. He then shifted gears to engage in the holiday spirit.
The President, along with his family, notably partook in a delayed but traditional family lunch at the Brotherhood of Thieves, a historic bar and grill, due to his prior engagements. This was followed by a shopping spree, with their first stop being at Nantucket Books, where First Lady Jill Biden and daughter Ashley were already browsing. The President expressed his delight, stating, “Can’t come without going to the bookstore. We’ve got a tradition.” He left the store carrying a copy of “Democracy Awakening” by historian Heather Cox Richardson.
The shopping outing continued with visits to Craftmasters of Nantucket and the Jeweler’s Gallery, during which the first family was warmly greeted by cheering crowds and well-wishers. The day culminated in the Bidens attending Nantucket’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony and joining in the festive celebrations.
However, the outing was not without interruptions, as pro-Palestine protesters brought their cause to the President’s attention during his walk to lunch and later at the tree lighting ceremony. Despite these disruptions, the Bidens continued to partake in the holiday traditions that have been a part of their family for decades.
