Early on Friday, Tiffany Haddish was detained by the Beverly Hills police on suspicion of driving under the influence. The police received a call around 5:45 a.m. reporting that she was found slumped over the wheel of her vehicle with the engine still running.
The Emmy and Grammy-winning actor and comedian had performed at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles the previous night for the comedy club’s 43rd annual free Thanksgiving feast for the community.
At the time of reporting, there has been no immediate response from Haddish’s representative to an emailed request for comment.
It’s worth noting that Haddish had also been arrested on suspicion of DUI in suburban Atlanta last year.
Haddish, known for her roles in films such as “Girls Trip,” “Night School,” “Like a Boss,” and “The Kitchen,” is the author of the New York Times bestseller “The Last Black Unicorn,” which received a Grammy nomination.
In 2018, she won an Emmy for her appearance on “Saturday Night Live” and received a Grammy in 2021 for her special “Black Mitzvah.”
