In a thrilling game, quarterback Bo Nix led No. 6 Oregon to a commanding 63-19 victory over California. Nix threw four touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores, showcasing his exceptional skills. The Ducks remain undefeated at Autzen Stadium, improving their season record to 8-1.

Nix completed 29 of 38 passes for 380 yards and had two 1-yard touchdown runs. Receiver Tez Johnson was instrumental in Oregon’s success, catching 12 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

On the other side, Jaydn Ott rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Bears. Nohl Williams contributed with a fumble return touchdown and Mateen Bhaghani made two field goals.

Nix’s outstanding performance earned him the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week title. With 25 touchdown passes and five rushing touchdowns this season, Nix has been generating Heisman Trophy buzz. However, he faces tough competition from fellow Pac-12 quarterback Michael Penix Jr. of No. 5 Washington.

The game started off with intermittent rain showers, adding an element of challenge for both teams. Despite an interception on the first play from scrimmage, Oregon quickly gained control of the game.

Oregon’s dominance was evident throughout the game, with multiple touchdowns from Nix, including impressive passes to Johnson and Troy Franklin. The Ducks entered halftime with a comfortable lead of 35-13.

Although Cal managed to score a touchdown early in the third quarter thanks to Ott, Oregon responded with a touchdown of their own from Bucky Irving.

The Bears had a chance to make a comeback in the third quarter, but Jaivian Thomas fumbled near the Oregon goal line, and the Ducks recovered the ball. Unfortunately, Thomas was injured on the play and had to be carted off the field.

In the fourth quarter, Nix continued to shine, connecting with Terrance Ferguson for a touchdown pass. Jordan James also contributed with a rushing touchdown, and backup quarterback Ty Thompson threw a touchdown pass to Traeshon Holden.

This game marks the end of the rivalry between Oregon and Cal as Pac-12 opponents, as Oregon will join the Big Ten next season and Cal will join the ACC.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by No. 6 Oregon, further solidifying their position as a top contender in the Pac-12.
