The Miami Dolphins secured a 45-15 victory over the Washington Commanders, reaching a 9-3 record for the first time since 2001. Tyreek Hill made a significant impact by scoring two touchdowns and recording 157 yards receiving.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa delivered an impressive performance, completing 18 of 24 passes for 280 yards. He connected with Hill for two touchdowns, with passes of 78 and 60 yards. Tagovailoa, who had struggled with turnovers in previous games, managed to play a turnover-free game.

De’Von Achane, returning after an injury-related absence, contributed two rushing touchdowns, while Raheem Mostert also added a rushing touchdown to Miami’s league-leading offense, which accumulated 406 yards in total.

The Dolphins extended their winning streak to three games and even saw their defense contribute to the scoring, with linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel returning an interception for a 33-yard touchdown. The team also registered three sacks against Washington.

The Washington Commanders, who have been struggling, were unable to contain Hill’s impact. They have lost four consecutive games, being outscored 150-70 during this stretch and have only secured two victories in their last eleven games.

Coach Mike McDaniel opted to replace several key offensive players early in the fourth quarter, as Miami had established a commanding lead. Backup quarterback Mike White led a touchdown drive during garbage time.

Celebration and Frustration

After Hill’s first touchdown catch, the Dolphins players celebrated by simulating a roller coaster ride in the end zone. However, frustrations were evident on the Commanders’ side, with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy seen expressing his displeasure at quarterback Sam Howell following a critical interception.

Welcome Victory

Coach McDaniel, who once served as a Washington assistant, secured his first victory as a head coach at FedEx Field. He had previously been with the franchise from 2011-13 under Mike Shanahan.

Injury Updates

There were some injury concerns for the Dolphins, with linebacker Jerome Baker and offensive lineman Robert Hunt both forced out of the game due to knee and hamstring injuries, respectively. Meanwhile, the Commanders’ running back Brian Robinson Jr. and defensive tackle John Ridgeway also suffered hamstring and shin injuries.

Upcoming Matches

The Dolphins are set to host the Tennessee Titans on Monday, Dec. 11, while the Commanders will visit the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Dec. 17, following their bye week.

Commanders: After their bye week, visit the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Dec. 17.
